Travel + Leisure has announced the results of the prestigious World’s Best Awards 2017, ranking The Brando the “#1 Resort in the South Pacific” and “#2 Best Hotel in the World.”

The 2017 Travvy Awards have quickly earned their reputation as the Academy Awards of the travel industry. The Travvys recognize the top suppliers, destinations, technology providers and attractions, as selected by those who know them best – travel agents. Once all entries were submitted, travel agents chose who they believe is the best in each category of travel.

Condé Nast Traveler’s 2016 Readers’ Choice Awards - The Brando #1 in the “50 Best Resorts in the World”

Condé Nast Traveler announced the results of its 29 th annual Readers’ Choice Awards with The Brando receiving top honors as the “Best Resort in the World” and “Top Resort in Australia and the South Pacific” with the highest overall score of 99.80. This recognition marks the private island resort’s debut on the esteemed awards list which celebrates the world’s best hotels, resorts, cities, islands, airlines, and cruise lines.

The Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards are the longest-running and most prestigious recognition of excellence in the travel industry and are commonly known as “the best of the best of travel.” Under Editor in Chief Pilar Guzmán, the Readers’ Choice Awards have become more selective and specific to the passions that inspire today’s travelers. Over 300,000 dedicated readers – nearly twice as many as last year – cast votes for 7,394 hotels, 606 cities, 500 cruise ships, and 236 islands, resulting in the 1,402 best travel experiences in the world.

The Readers’ Choice Awards are announced in the November issue of Condé Nast Traveler, on newsstands nationwide on October 25, 2016. The full list is published exclusively online, at www.CNTraveler.com/rca.

LEED Platinum Certification

The Brando earned the prestigious designation based on its commitment to conservation and sustainability efforts in the development and overall operation of the pristine island resort. This certification is the culmination of more than six years of work carried out by the resort’s owners, designers and architects, and establishes The Brando as the first project to earn LEED certification in French Polynesia.

The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is the foremost program for buildings, homes and communities that are designed, constructed, maintained and operated for improved
environmental and human health performance.

The Brando secured LEED certification by implementing practical and measurable strategies and solutions aimed at achieving high performance in: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.

WORLD SPA AWARDS - French Polynesia's Best Resort Spa 2016

Varua Te Ora Polynesian Spa was recognized French Polynesia’s Best Resort Spa 2016 in the 2nd edition of the World Spa Awards.
World Spa Awards is a yearly event, and votes are cast by professionals working within the spa industry – senior executives, travel buyers, tour operators, agents and media – and by the public.

Travel + Leisure announced on July 7, 2016,the results of the prestigious World’s Best Awards 2016, ranking The Brando the “#1 Resort in the South Pacific” and “#20 Hotel in the World.”

This acknowledgement marks the island resort’s inaugural debut on this coveted awards list. The World’s Best Awards results are based on data collected from an annual survey. The final rankings for each resort were compiled based on scores from criteria including rooms/facilities, restaurants/food, location, service and value.

In order to encourage responsible waste management, Fenua Ma – the government agency in charge of collecting and processing waste for Tahiti and surrounding French Polynesian islands -has instituted yearly “Turtle Awards”. In the category “Hotels & Resorts” and as early as for its opening year, The Brando was awarded the 2015 Gold Turtle Award, making it the best resort in French Polynesia for selective waste management.

Fenua Ma has also recognized The Brando’s “efforts and good practices in selective waste management during the construction phase” with the following awards in the Hotels category:

2015 TRAVEL WEEKLY Magellan Awards

The Brando received two 2015 Gold Magellan Awards with one in the category of Hospitality Overall: Eco-Friendly “Green” Resort/Hotel and the other in the category of Hospitality Overall: Beach Resort/Hotel. The resort also won a 2015 Silver Magellan Award in the Hospitality Overall: Luxury Hotel/Resort category.
