2019 Fenua Ma “Gold Turtle Award”

In order to encourage responsible waste management, Fenua Ma – the government agency in charge of collecting and processing waste for Tahiti and surrounding French Polynesian islands -has instituted yearly “Turtle Awards”. In the category “Hotels & Resorts” and as early as for its opening year, The Brando was awarded the Gold Turtle Award every year since 2014, making it the best resort in French Polynesia for selective waste management. 2017 Travvy Awards – Silver Travvy for Best Honeymoon Hotel/Resort, Australia/New Zealand/South Pacific

The 2017 Travvy Awards have quickly earned their reputation as the Academy Awards of the travel industry. The Travvys recognize the top suppliers, destinations, technology providers and attractions, as selected by those who know them best – travel agents. This recognition marks the private island resort’s debut on the esteemed awards list which celebrates the world’s best hotels, resorts, cities, islands, airlines, and cruise lines. LEED Platinum Certification

The Brando earned the prestigious designation based on its commitment to conservation and sustainability efforts in the development and overall operation of the pristine island resort. This certification is the culmination of more than six years of work carried out by the resort’s owners, designers and architects, and establishes The Brando as the first project to earn LEED certification in French Polynesia. The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is the foremost program for buildings, homes and communities that are designed, constructed, maintained and operated for improved environmental and human health performance. The Brando secured LEED certification by implementing practical and measurable strategies and solutions aimed at achieving high performance in: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.
